Believe it or not, but no matter how much your children plead, hand washing dishes is better for their health. Hand washing dishes decreases the childrens allergies because the clean water and soap is getting on their hands more often than if they place the dishes in the dishwasher.
Also, whenever someone washes dishes their hands may feel unclean, so they wash them right afterwards. Another point on why hand washing dishes is healthy is because of all of the warm water that is used in the process. First you rinse the dishes, then you put soap on the dishes, next you rinse the soap off of the dishes and the process of "rinse, soap, rinse, repeat" starts.
After the whole process is finished, the childs hands feel pretty weird considering they have been doing that for a while, so the brain thinks "Ew my hands are dirty, so I have to clean them." That normally leads children to washing their hands AGAIN and so the childs hands are afterwards pretty clean.
Furthermore, washing dishes by hand is not only healthy and good for seasonal allergies, but it is good for food allergies as well. According to MedPageToday, studies show that, "eating fermented food, or buying food directly from farms"(Hand Dishwashing Tied to Fewer Allergies for Kids) will decrease and can even get rid of food allergies once and for all. So, if children eat healthier and wash dishes by hand, they will get sick less often and they will remain healthier for as long as they do so.
