Have You Ever Sent an Odd Message Because of Autocorrect?
People are discovering more pitfalls when they tap on the virtual keyboards. When you type a message the spellcheck tries to save you for your sloppy typing. It suggest "alternatives" or automatically replacing errors. They say that autocorrecting is suppose to save you from your typos but it really just fails. An example is that "A dad wrote to his daughter: your mother and are going to divorce next month". When he really meant "we are going to Disney next month". This was off the site of www.learning.blogs.nytimes.com.
Little text like what the dad sent his daughter can really make things out of context. That is mostly because they don't take the time to proof read their text before sending them to someone. This could lead to a crazy, hilarious ,choking or a sad reaction for the reader who sent or received the message. A lot of people use their phones for play and for work. When your sending something to your boss you don't want some word you added to the dictionary to be autocorrected and sent to your boss. That's mostly why teachers/bosses always say reread or proof read your work but sometimes your eyes put words in that you think are there but you didn't write or type. This was sited from www.mailnmoblie.com.
My person I interviewed gave me an example of when auto correct changed what she wanted to write. She said:"every time I went in to type citrus springs to see where to go for my brothers doctors appointment it just kept changing it to Altamonte springs". She did eventually get it yesterday after awhile.we are so used to having our electronics fix spelling for us, we don't think about how auto correcting can think of other words to replace instead of what we wanted to have it change. Auto correction may just change a word but that word can make a big difference in what you really mean.
This article shows you more then your own point of view or experience it shows you other peoples. I have also had problems with auto correction and so have my friends because whenever you try to type in my name it will change it to "Carrie" but I don't have the "e" at the end. Now that mostly happens with a lot of people if it's not a common way to spell a name. The articles I have chosen give you steps like how to tun auto off at wok, put a bunch of letter at the end of the word, and just as simple as just proof reading what you wrote.
