Why do people do the ALS challenge?
ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis(Aim-eo-trophic Lateral Celler-osis), is a desise that affects nerve cells and the spinal cord. The ALS Assotiation is devoted to making our world ALS free. Of course, all assotiations need funds to keep their research alive, and this is why people do the ALS Challenge. This year, donations have went up 3000% since last year. People can make a difference in other's lives, so why don't you?
Here's how.
First step of the ALS is getting nominated or just simply doing it yourself. All you Ned is a video of you doing the Ice Bucket Challenge, bust most people don't donate, they just do it for entertainment. These videos have brought awareness to ALS, this means that people who have it are getting treated better thanks to the new funds. In this site,
http://www.tylerpaper.com/tp-yes/204271/not-even-icecold-water-can-dampen-ice-bucket-challenge#.U_9WLNq9KSM, it says:"ALS has soared into the spotlight this summer, and thanks to a clever challenge donations are up more than 3,000 percent over the same time period last year. Celebrities, public officials and average Joes alike have taken the challenge and donated to the association." This shows that ALS is getting more and more attention.
I interviewed my cousin, Sebastion, who did the ALS challenge and donated to the cause. I asked him "So, why did you do the ALS challenge?" He replied with "I did the ALS challenge because I wanted to help out with getting money for the cause, and because my friends nominated me to do it. I collected $500 in total from my family members, and donated it to the company." Anybody can do the ALS challenge, they just have to have a video and then donate. On the site, http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_Bucket_Challenge it says: "The challenge dares nominated participants to be filmed having a bucket of ice water poured on their heads and then nominating others to do the same."
So, I nominate you to do the ALS challenge.
