The New England Patriots have beaten the Colts and the Seahawks have beaten the Packers in an overtime game. Only thing that matters now, who will become the champions of Super Bowl 49? The Seahawks-one of the best teams of the NFC-and the Patriots who've beaten the odds to make it through the play-offs to the Super Bowl. Judging from the performances of both teams this game will either be a good one or a total blowout-depending on their performance DURING the game that is. Quarterback Russell Wilson of the Seahawks and Tom Brady of the Patriots will soon enough on Feburary 1st go head to head against each other doing their best to win a chance of holding the Lombardi Trophy.
Who has an edge? Tom Brady is the epitome of the "old-guard" and has the experience and motivation though he is in his twilight years of 37. However Wilson the age of 26 is a living, breathing manifestation of the "new-guard" in year 3 with a World Championship under his belt.
The Seahawks also have Lynch "Beast Mode" one of the best backs in the NFL, he showed his best in the NFC championship game practically pulverizing the Packers Defence with sheer brutality. While Lynch is good the Patriots have a three headed monster known as LeGarrette Blount, Shane Vereen and Jonas Gray taking turns carrying the ball. However Lynch aka Beast Mode has the upper hand in this section.
Both teams are known to not have particularly Superstar level Wide Receiver but, Julian Edelman is one of the Patriots best wide receivers with 92 caught passes this season. The patriots also include Brandon LaFell and Danny Amendola.
While Patriots have a slight lead in this position the Seahawks include players like Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse and Ricardo Lockette take turns making plays. However their corps has thinned out out since the trade of the mercurial Percy Harvin.
Last year, the Seattle Seahawks defensive line was dominant in the Super Bowl, with ends Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril tormenting Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. Avril (second overall) and Bennett (13th) both finished the regular season as top-15 defensive ends. For New England, defensive end Chandler Jones (who finished 2014 with a pass-rusher rating of plus-11.2, via Pro Football Focus) is the star of the show, but he has yet to record a sack in his six career postseason games. Because of Jones' lack of playoff production, there's no way the Patriots have the edge over Seattle in this category.
Overall, who do you feel has the edge or even a chance at winning Super Bowl 49 of 2015 on Feburary 1, will it be The Seattle Seahawks or New England Patriots?
